It’s been a super busy start to the year with the arrival of Isla in early February and then starting work on the kitchen at the end of the month… and I’m getting so bad at remembering to update this site!!

There’s been an awful lot of prep in this room, including pulling the ceilings down, some of which you can see in the photos below, and re-insulating and re-boarding the ceiling too. It’s a messy job, kicking up so much dust, but our new ceiling already looks 100x better than the last.

What else happened this month? David sorted out all the electrics in the room plus the mantel around the fireplace is gone and my dad boxed in/tidied up the whole area. This will eventually hold two cabinets/be a little breakfast bar area, similar to this vibe (thanks AI!):
