Another month flown over! Here’s everything we did in February…

This month was all about the stairs! Since we’ve moved in we’ve known we’ve wanted to replace the metal spindles with wooden ones.

Because we’re keeping the original newel posts we opted for a plain straight edge spindle on the stairs. We applied Kling strip on all the wood that was original which was staying and removed the rest.

I wasn’t much help in installing the spindles (!) so I got to work on removing the carpet and underlay and taking out all the staples and nails left behind. In doing so we discovered at some point the stairs had had a runner on them…

The stairs are so creaky so David decided to remove the back and screw / glue them back together.

Also this month I bought the cutest mini rechargeable lamp from Zara Home. I knew it would be small but this is just so teeny and cute, I love it!
