House Update: December 2023

If you follow me on Instagram you’ll have seen that this month we finished our upstairs bathroom!

I’ve written a post with more photos and videos earlier this month which you can read via this link.

This means our drainage is now in place and broken pipes have been fixed too which is a relief as they were leaking every time we drained the bath / sink!

Also this month I picked up some faux flowers from Vinted (I know, of all places!). I’m loving this little corner of our bedroom now and find myself just standing back and admiring it!

Still working upstairs on the house, with our new bathroom up and running, we started stripping out the old one. I’m glad we’re taking it back to studwork and framing it out again as there was so much wasted room behind this little bathroom. We’re gaining an additional two/three feet by pushing this wall back.

With the main wall now gone the space looked huge — I was also finding it really difficult to understand how the room will look when it’s all framed out and how much space we’ll actually have. Everything from the purlin onwards will be storage space so, to get a better idea of the room when it’s finished, I mocked it up on Roomplanner.

Ignoring how the furniture looks, this is roughly what we’re working towards with the room. The block in the corner is the chimney breast!

But imagine with this furniture/colour scheme…

The vision!

We still have a way to go until this space will look like an office but lots of progress has been made this month and I can’t wait to see how different it’ll look in a month’s time. Until then!
