This month it got really exciting.
We finally started painting!
I always love this stage as it means we’re not too far away from furnishing it (ie the best bit).
David fitted the spot lights in the bedroom this month too. I was a bit apprehensive about installing them in a bedroom as I thought they may look too much like what you’d find in a kitchen/bathroom but they’re actually quite subtle and to be honest, we hardly use the main lights anyway as we always have our lamps on.
This room will probably look quite masculine when it’s finished – we’ve went with quite dark and neutral colours to match with the furniture we already own. In the future, this will probably be our second/guest room as the bedroom across the landing will be our main bedroom (and I’ve already got plans on how I’d like to decorate that one too).
In other parts of the house, my dad fit the cills on the bay window in what will be our more ‘formal’ living space (David is convinced we’ll never use the room when it’s done, mainly because it won’t have the tv in it, but I think he might change his mind).
After lots of back and forth, we also picked out the carpet for the bedroom which will be fitted next week. This was a mammoth task as every one we looked at somehow looked exactly like the one before it yet completely different too? Carpet shopping is one of my least favourite things I think!

Other things this month – we* added new pipes in the bedroom for the radiator which we’re* moving to under the window, we* got the radiator all set up ready to be properly installed, we* replaced the plug sockets in the bedroom with some new ones and we* started taking off the plaster / wallpaper in the bay window in the main living room.
*when I say ‘we’ I mean my dad/David!
