We’re five months in – this month in particular has been all about getting the upstairs bedroom done and fitting some new window sills downstairs too.
The bedroom needed so much work – it especially needed insulation which my Dad and David have painstakingly fitted (whilst removing tonnes of crap hidden behind the stud work, left behind from a previous owner).
They also insulated what will become our main bedroom in the future, creating this little access hatch which will get plastered over when we come to decorate:

The skirting boards were sanded and primed which was really exciting as you can get a good idea of what they’ll look like when they’re fully glossed.

After plastering the walls, my Dad fit all the skirtings and frames (the door is a temporary solution and we’ll have temporary doors throughout until we are ready to buy the doors we want in bulk for the whole house).
Now, we’re just getting ready the walls ready for painting, the pipes in place to fit the new radiator and everything sorted in time for the carpets to be fitted. Exciting times ahead!
