August was a quieter month as David focused on getting the last of the decking set up, including the steps on either side of the decking itself.

We also removed the fireplace from our living and dining room and then September arrived!

With the old fire gone, my dad got started on prepping the room for plastering, this meant taking off all the old plaster from the wall as it was already cracking and falling off…

We also got some carpet on our landing and stairs (so exciting!). These stairs have went through drastic transformation this year.

To think they used to look like this!

I can’t explain how nice it is to have carpet on the stairs and landing now – we had the bare floorboards for so long! It feels like a massive transformation.

Then my dad started plastering the living room which is really taking shape. I think this room will hopefully be done for Christmas which would be amazing as we can put up two Christmas trees this year if so!

We also started looking at paint swatches and started shopping for log burners and hearths. Exciting!
