I wrote about our garden endeavours back in May and June and July were more of the same!
Taking advantage of the long days and warm weather, we spent quite a lot of time outdoors this month. David in particular spent many evenings prepping the top section of the garden for the turf. It was a bit of a mess beforehand, one of those it-gets-worse-before-it-gets-better type of jobs, but afterwards, once the turf was all rolled out it was completely transformed.

It’s worth mentioning that in the three and a half years of being in this house, we’ve never had a fully turfed garden like this. When we moved in, the right hand side of the garden was covered in ivy and a pond and a small patio type section with lots of gravel. For a very long time, it remained an eye-sore with uneven soil and weeds growing constantly. It’s been amazing to see it completely transformed and all the visions we had for the garden slowly come to fruition.

Once the turf was laid, David made a start on the decking area which is, again, a massive job. There were a few things which needed doing before he could actually start on framing the deck out, such as moving the downpipe.

Once it’s finished, the decking will be a huge outdoor seating space for us to use… I genuinely can’t wait. Until next time!
