House Update: November 2024

You know when you’re anticipating a big home project and brace yourself for the inconvenience and it turns out to be worse than you thought? That was us this month when the scaffolding went up!

Don’t get me wrong – we needed to put this up so that we could plaster the ceiling but one of the bars in particular cut across the stairwell so for a week we had to crawl underneath it to go up and down the stairs. The joys of renovating!

Once we got the scaffolding out we got started on filling, sanding and mist coating the walls in the hallway.

It’s a very messy awkward job!

In other parts of the house, the back bay window was finished this month. It’s had a new lintel installed and has been pieced back together with a new roof too. Our task (or I should say David’s task) is to insulate it… it’s a good job we’re not using this room at the moment because it’s insanely cold. Maybe by this time next year it’ll look completely different…

Until next time!
