House Update: November 2023

We achieved so much in November.

Firstly, in the porch, we added in some of the decor I’ve had in storage for months such as the Garden Trading peg rail which I was very excited about!

We also tidied up the paintwork on the internal windows using frog tape to mark a 3cm border on the glass. We decided to do this as despite all the hard work we’ve put into prepping the frames, the putty that was used to glue the windows in place is so wonky that, depending on where you were looking, you could sometimes still see it.

My photo frame, mount and art arrived this month so now all I’m waiting on is my side table then this room will be done!

But the biggest changes this month happened in the upstairs bathroom.

In my last update I mentioned we’d started tiling the shower. Well, this month, we finished tiling and added in the shelf too. This shelf excites me so much – it took my dad an awful lot of time to perfect it but it looks so good!

We also added in a small spotlight in here too and I’m so glad we did. It looks amazing lit up.

The panelling took shape this month too. We framed it out so that it would be flush with the shower tray and the same height as the shower shelf.

David and my dad have teased me from the beginning about how ‘OCD’ I’ve been over the height of this panelling and shelf but it’s now, when you see it together, you realise just how important these little details are!

And the height works brilliantly on the vanity unit wall too. Our taps are wall mounted in the panelling, ready for the unit to be fit.

We also added in the radiator this month and started figuring out the placement for the loo. How exciting!

It’s not too far off finishing now and I can’t wait to see it all finished.

Until next time…
