Our Design Ideas For Our Entryway

We are about to start the most exciting part of decorating the porch: painting!

This is my absolutely favourite part of renovating as it means the room is almost finished.

The design for this room came together from a combination of many different homes on Pinterest.

I loved the combination of light, bright and white entryways combined with a deep, dark and moody teal.

If I didn’t already have plans for an emerald green sitting room and kitchen I would definitely used Neptune’s Constable Green paint (above). We used this in Arthur’s nursery and it’s probably my favourite colour at the moment. However, I stumbled across this project by James Gorst Architects — we already had plans to paint the walls white and grey but after seeing this project I immediately knew I wanted to opt for a more blue hue on the stairs.

We have somewhat of a ‘feature wall’ in our entryway in that we have a partition doorway with large windows, similar to below.

Currently, the plan is to paint the partition in this deep teal colour and bring the colour scheme in through the hallway, using the same teal shade on the stairs.

I also love the contrast of the natural oak grain against the blue and white painted walls.

But for now, we’ll crack on and get as much done as we can before my deadline of Halloween. Wish us luck!
