House Update: July 2023

Compared to previous months, this one was quiet!

For the first time in a while, we had a few weekends off and it was only towards the end of the month that we started our vanity unit project.

If you follow me on Instagram you might’ve seen some of my stories about this but one Sunday morning I logged into Facebook Marketplace and found the perfect table to make into a vanity unit for our upstairs bathroom.

We started by sanding the unit back and removing the varnish before painting it and deciding what to do with the oak top. We don’t know yet whether we’ll whitewash it with matt emulsion paint, stain it or just seal it.

I’m obsessed with all things Neptune and so my plan is to make it look like their Chichester Vanity Unit but for a fraction of the price. We’re also hoping to make it look like their ‘Smoke’ paint on the bottom which is a mid grey colour with blue undertones.

I’ve drafted a post on how much it cost us to transform it from console table to vanity unit as well as all the steps we did to make sure it was ready for the bathroom. I’ll share once the bathroom is done and the unit is in place!

But as for July, that was all we got up to! Let’s see what August brings…
