Now two of the largest tasks (rewire and new windows/doors) are sorted, we can now get started on prepping the house for decorating. Our to-do list is quite lengthy but our next priorities include…

Plastering

We haven’t yet got around to sorting out the damage from the rewire. Every room has some sort of plastering to do but in some sections of the house the coving needs repairing too.

Removing the ivy

We have a tiny amount of ivy left in near the hot tub which we need to remove and quite a lot near the pond area. We still can’t remove this yet as the tadpoles are still growing. I don’t think we have long left until they turn into frogs but we can tidy it up a little while we wait for them to grow.

Getting rid of the hot tub

Speaking of the hot tub, we really need to get this shifted as we can’t make any progress on the left-hand side of the garden because of it. Our plan is to get the hot tub removed, remove the decking, sort out the grass and bushes in that area and put up a new fence along the back of the garden.

Building the stud walls upstairs

We’re planning on doing some major work on the floorplan upstairs. We’re taking the main rooms, dividing them and knocking through into the existing bathroom. There’s a lot of work to be done but as soon we get the walls up we can start decorating some of the bedrooms properly.
